Some of what we’ve done to Help Others Grow in 2007 includes:
Sending money to Sri Lanka
for medical supplies, eye cataract operations and supplied reading glasses for 50 children.
We visited a home for sexually abused girls aging from 11- 18 and supplied them with sewing equipment and other necessities
for their new home.
We visited an orphanage with 70 very under privileged children including 20 babies - many very sick -
A home for mentally and physically handicapped adults who lived after losing so many of their friends in the Tsunami.
We donated many items of necessity, as well as comfort, to those who had nothing.
We have facilitated over 60 cleft lip palette operations to date
We have sent money to Kathmandu for the purchase of land for a safe house for women and children.
Currently we are raising money to create a safe vocational home for sexually abused girls in Nepal.
In Kenya
we have sent money to help feed and educate children at an orphanage. See our projects page.
In September, 2007 Joanna went to Nepal to visit the Sapana Dreaming Childrens Home of which Joanna Giles is Patron
and made inroads towards creating the vocational home for sexually abused girls. We went shopping for them - we purchased art supplies - paper, paints, brushes and water balloons for the Sapana Home.
We continue to promote sponsorship of a child
to attend school or an orphan to be loved and educated in the Sapana Dreaming Home t hrough World Youth International.
