Medical Aide and Cleft Palette Operations

Established in 2000 in order to provide support to encourage, educate, enhance living standards and create a brightness of future for children and families throughout the world. HOG Heaven is a non-religious, non-profit and non-political foundation. We give 100% of funds donated to our on-going projects.

Founded by Joanna Giles, and originally named after Joanna’s grandfather, (Hew O’HalloranGiles 1889-1987), The H.O.G. Heaven Charity Foundation has evolved into the acronym –Helping Others Grow.

The Hog Heaven Charity Foundation Australia, now known as HOG Heaven, has branches in Queensland, South Australia, Sydney, N.S.W. Australia and Sedona, AZ, USA.

We have facilitated more than 111 cleft lip palate operations to date, installed over 20 Solar Panels in schools in Nepal, and donated many items of necessity, as well as comfort, to those who had nothing. The children are having their first exposure to light bulbs in areas that are so remote they may never have had electricity.

We have purchased art supplies such as paper, paints, brushes, and water balloons for the Sapana Dreaming Home, where Joanna is the patron, and for several other schools.

In Sri Lanka, we visited a home for sexually abused girls, ages 11-18, and supplied them with sewing equipment and other necessities for their new home. We also distributed money to Sri Lanka for medical supplies, eye cataract operations and we have supplied reading glasses for 50 children.

We also visited an orphanage in Sri Lanka which housed 70 very under-privileged children, including 20 babies. Many of these little ones were sick.

We have sent money to Bangladesh for the purchase of land for a safe house for women and children.

In Kenya we have supplied mosquito nets with funds from the sale of Blessing Bags. These are beautiful handmade bags which are only $10 USD.

We continue to promote sponsorship of a child to attend school or an orphan to be loved and through the generosity of our supporters.

Annually, Joanna visits the Sapana Dreaming Children’s Home and she and has noted many positive changes over the 9 years since the home was built. Hog Heaven also supports $2,500 USD in Kiva Loans around the world. Each year Joanna visits these locations and several others and witnesses first hand that the present is indeed brightening for these individuals and the future seems filled with much hope.
